The Filter Project
Museum of Design
Ghent, Belgium

Twelve participants of all ages (6-55) were invited to imagine, design and make an object, a “Filter”, that illustrates how they see and navigate the world. The “Filters” advocated and represented neurodivergence in an embodied way, through non-verbal communication.

The “Filters” were tools of awareness and affirmation, providing an unusual and positive rendering of neurodivergence, connecting worlds that rarely overlap. The “Filters” were also beautiful design objects in their own right, ready to be exhibited in the museum and to be enjoyed by the visitors.
